Re: Pros and Cons of new intake

Do you have an integrated head? If so, you won't be able to do much.

If you have the other head with the removable intake /exhaust, you can do a few mods.

Even using a new intake and a small carb (390 cfm seems to be the most popular), it won't help that much in mileage or horespower.....

Some people have used what Stovebolt sells, a Holley/Weber progressive carb which works ok, but for the time and money you would spend, you really won't get much back.....

Offenhauser Dual Carburetor Chevy 194, 230, 250 and 292 intake allow you to run a Big 6 without the hassles and cost of the Chevy/GMC. Manifold provides a nostalgic appearance while equalizing fuel distribution to all cylinders, improving both performance and economy. With this lightweight cast aluminum manifold, your inline six will be more responsive across the RPM range.

Re: Pros and Cons of new intake

I'm running an Offy with a 350 holley 2 barrel, an hei and langdon's headers.
One definite improvement is cold starting and running. I don't even need the choke to start it. It runs smooth all the time. No hesitation ever. Can't say that about running with the stock parts.
