Cheapest way to lift a 67 4x4

What is the cheapest way that is safe and will have decent street manners to lift a 67 K10? I've heard something about putting the rear spings up front and getting longer ones for the rear?

Rear springs are too long to be used up front. Cheapest lift is probably lift springs up front with raised steering arm, and blocks in rear. Cheaper yet is a set of hockey pucks between your body mounts and frame!

Best plan is not to cheap out. Had a 82 'burban with a less than stellar lift, ruined the truck. Doors wouldn't work, body lift pulled t-case linkage all the time and ate two of them, squeaks/klunks, pulled wires. Spend a little extra cash for quality.
That's my one and only old man rant.

Not a big fan of body lifts, not going that way. Where should I look for affordable lift springs? I only want to go up 3 or 4 inches.

You can get many spring shops to re-arch your current leaves and do an add a leaf. This will give you lift but also make for a stiffer ride. New springs from a reputable suspension company is your best bet. To go the least expensive route the way to gain a few inches is would be to buy new front springs with the lift desired. Add a block in the rear to level and then you have to consider the shocks, new u-bolts, brake lines or at least brake line relocation brackets. Budget wise I would guess probably $350-$400.

Check out my poor ole Jimmy thread! I made a lift By adding some leafs to the front from an old set of rear springs I had! Car quest had the center bolts in stock, get them longer so you can draw the leafs together then cut them off.. Blocks in the rear.

I took mine to the local spring shop. They re-arched the fronts and took out the thick heavy leaf from the rear pack and replaced it with three thinner leaves that softened the ride but kept the load capacity. Their prices were much less than a new set of springs.

That's what I was going to suggest. Some of you may not realize,but you can't just go out and buy a lift kit off the shelf for the pre-69 4wds.
