rear gear question

Hi guys. I bought a salvage rear end a few days ago and when i pulled the diff cover i found kinda thick rust on the caps and the back of where the ring gear bolts up and in the bottom. all the parts that werent covered in oil while setting i guess. My question is if i were to clean it up and clean it out would it be ok? or will the rust thats been in there wear out the bearings?

Re: rear gear question

Personally I would clean it up good, Fill it. Run it for a week then give it an oil change.
