Need recommendation for good trimmer:
Need a good recommendtion for a good trimmer:
1) With an american made engine. Got nothing against Japanese engines, in fact i love them. But in this case i prefer to buy American for personal reasons. a) Prefer 4 cycle but will definitely consider 2 cycle. 2) Money no object, but quality relibility, durability and dependability is. 3) Feel free to recommend commercial grade as i am seriously considering starting a part-time lawnmowing business. 4) May consider electric, but it has to be good. |

I have had a gas powered Echo for over 10 years and it has been great - it says "assembled in USA". I use it all year around here about every other weekend. It is a commercial model.

Stihl.
Best made stuff in my opinion.Sure it's a German company, but most of the stuff in the US is made in Virginia. |

Re: Need recommendation for good trimmer:
X2 on the Stihl. I did just trade out the string head for a different autofeed unit. I also have a Stihl 029 chain saw that I have run the p!ss out of for 10 years. Great piece of equipment.
I had an Echo trimmer before the Stihl, but it wouldn't hold a tune for anything. Most seem happy with Echo; maybe I had the Friday-afternoon-on-the-assembly-line model.
