Paint finally complete

Hello guys,

Been a member for a while but rarely post. I do love reading all of your posts and have gotten tons of useful information from this forum. I know you guys love pics so here are a few of my 86 finally done at the body shop. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Now that it's painted I'm thinking I may need to go a tad lower. Let me know what you all think.

That's awesome! Hopefully my truck looks that nice one of these days. lol.

I'd personally keep it at the height it's at now. But that's just my opinion

Thanks, just keep at it and it will. Believe me I almost gave up a few times on mine. It's got a 2.5\4 Drop at the moment.

Thanks, it has a 2.5\4 inch drop using spindles, shackles and hangers. The wheels are Boss 338's.

Re: Paint finally complete

Only way I'd consider dropping it more personally is if it were to be on air bags - otherwise you'll catch hell with speed bumps & entrance ramps most of the time... Truck looks great though man - cool color!!!

Beautiful paint work. I can't wait until mine escapes paint prison. It would be great to see some additional pictures of yours without the shadows.

WOW! That looks awesome. It turned out really slick. I feel it needs to be lowered just a bit more to close the gap. You have a nice tire/wheel size working, but the gap makes them look small.

You also need to paint the drums satin black when you have a chance. You can do that before you drop it off at my place...

Thank-you coming from you this means a lot, your truck IMO is one of the best if not the best trucks on this forum!!!! I was thinking that it does need come down a little more. I know in the front I can do 2 inch springs but what can I do in the back since I already have shackles and hangers?

The drums are on my list of to do's when I get the truck back and start reassembly but I'm at a dilemma with the interior color now. It was originally Saddle and since the truck has been at the body shop I have dyed all the interior plastics black using SEM products. After seeing the color I'm thinking Saddle may be a better option. Opinions?

You have a few options:

De-arch the springs
Remove the overload or one in the middle of the pack
Do what I'm fixing to do and put the stock hangers/shackles back on and get a flip kit.

Truck looks great by the way, I think a little more drop wont hurt it. Post up some pictures of it fully in the sunlight when you can.....

I kept them when I removed them for the drop shackle and hangers, so mine will be coming from my storage building, lol.

Other than that, I guess a salvage yard or LMC???

Great color man! I like it a lot! I'm also for lowering it a bit to close the gap up.

Love the color. I think it could go a little lower, too. Either way, it looks great!
