NV 4500 swap questions
ok guys I am wanting to put a NV4500 in place of my sm465 I have found out all the 4X4 swap info NOW will it bolt up to a stock chevy bell housing and can I use a mechanical throw out bearing I really dont want to run hydrolic clutch

you just need a adapter plate for it to bolt up to your bellhousing and you can keep your mechanical clutch. I had a thread on it a while back if you check my threads started it should show you what adapter plate and what nv4500 to use(from a dodge truck).

if I have to use a dodge tranny Ill just keep my sm465 why wont a chevy nv4500 bolt up did they change bolt patterns ??

You can use a Chevy tranny but you'll need a new bellhousing that is more expensive than the adapter and will require a transmission crossmember also. There the same transmission for the most part just different bolt patterns and some have higher 1st gears

I called advanced adapter today and they have a kit that includes everything but the clutch and pressure plate it even has the adapter for my np205 so thats the way Im gonna go as far as the crossmember I have one from a auto tranny that I can modify if I need to
