Truck won't start

Hey guys. Been quite a while since I was on here. My truck has been sitting for about a year after putting a new engine in it. Needless to say it won't stay running now and it sound really throaty when it does run. I drained the gas and replaced it with new gas. Where should I start in trying to get the truck running? ANy help is appreciated.

Re: Truck won't start

Should I replace the fuel filter? I have a edlebrock 600. Do i need to remove it and clean it. I live in Arizona and it has been averaging 94 for the last three weeks. Do you think there is still condensation in the distributor?

Re: Truck won't start

I would say remove the carb and clean it, sounds like it may be your problem along with replacing the fuel filter. good luck!

Re: Truck won't start

So it starts but then soon dies or is it not turning over/running on own?

If it starts initially: as been said check fuel filter...fuel pressure, all that's been said previously (spark..dirty carb).

I hate when those things happen. Ive had trucks sit for along time and usually just pulling the air cleaner, a little carb fluid...and a bit of cranking (without flooding it) and were good to go.

Thanks Guys...I have to wait until later in the week to get to it but thanks for the info.

The truck starts but won't stay running without my foot on the gas.

I will update once I get a chance to look at it.
