gas tank
i have a question for all of you guys that have relocated your gas tank to the frame of your trucks. what did you guys do for fuel lines? did you do hard lines or did you go with some of the new flex lines like from summit or other places. pictures are always good for how you did your set up. i have a tank on order from the fuel cell guy that is on here and would like some direction on running fuel lines THANKS

Re: gas tank
I hard lined mine to a filter along the frame rail with a short flex line to the engine fuel pump. I have yet to do the filter and flex line, it's in progress.

Mine is Jegs 20-Gallon Aluminum Fuel Cell
And yes.... the fuel lines. I replace mine with steel. ![]() FYI guys with this Ethanol mixture in the gas eats away at the fuel lines. That's why I ran steel fuel lines. They say you need to change the rubber fuel lines 3 to 5 years. The newer vehicles have teflon in them. They know how to look out for us don't the ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: gas tank
Mine is all 3/8" steel hard line except for a short piece of rubber hose that connects the front of the hard line to the fuel pump. From the pump to the carburetor is all steel hard line as well. I'm still running the original cartridge filter that came stock on 1960 GMCs, which is mounted under the cab on the passenger side frame rail.

Re: gas tank
I ran stainless all the way up the frame, but it cost $110 for the lines and ss clamps.

Re: gas tank
Jegs sells OEM style fuel line. It is double wall copperized steel tubing and is available with either black or silver powder coating.
It is 25 ft long and comes coiled up. I used 3/8" on my truck and the stuff was pretty easy to work with. Here is a link: Jegs P/N 555-63068 |
