Tach ?
How do you test a tach? mine seems to be dead. Is there a way to just see if the tach itself is dead? it's a factory 7k tach. (camaro) thanks.

The first test that you might want to do is with an ohm meter.
Test the positive and negative terminals for reading to case. The next item that I would try is to ground case, hook 12v to power terminal, then with a volt meter measure negative meter to ground. You should be able to make meter read with this test. Thse two test should at least let you know whether the tach works or not. Jim |

when you connect 12 volt, needle should go to zero. i also made up some leads and connect it to my dist an check operation before install in dash. i think that is best way.
