current workhorse issues
hi need some help with an issue on my 94 astro van. didnt know where i could post it. its basically got a truck frame and drivetrain right. well heres the deal. the door hangs a little and it makes it hard to pull it open so ive broken the handle a couple times. ive gotten another replacement but id like to make it stop hanging, im getting tired of jumping the seats to open it. someone told me i can replace the bushings on the door? i dont even know how to pop the door off. i tried to on a junkyard one and it was a FAIL. thanks, im including some pictures.
Door closed  door hanging. u can see it better on top part.  inside door, bushings and removal are here??

just knock out the hinge pins and put new bushings in. possible new pins and bushings would be the way to go. these doors are like the s10's no adjustment at the hinge. use a jack and a friend to hold the door so you dont drop it.

ypu just knock out with a hammer, just dont beat then up to mich tho. s store most of them have new pins and bushing on one of there racks. pending on your hinges you mite have to drill the holes just a tad for the new bushings as the holes could be out around abit.

Yep just pop out the pins and replace the bushings with new ones from a retailer not wrecking yard. They are designed to take the wear so the hinges do not.

I replaced the ones on the DS door of my S10 this past summer. The hinges were fine but the bushings were shot. That spring is a pain in the butt, but there's a special tool that makes taking it out and putting it back in much easier. I think mine was about $5.
What everyone else has suggested is what I did. Used a jack/wood block to hold door, removed spring and pins (also disconnect any wires BEFORE doing this, nothing worse than getting the door loose and ripping the wires out!) then pulled the door off, set it to the side, removed old bushing, installed new ones, put door back on, then the new pins, then the little spring and my door open and shut normally again.
