Re: low budget 64

I started out with 71 spendles from craigs list. did a little clean up and fitted new disc brakes. I order a air bag kit from sucidedoor.com....after the install it was not low enough for me....so I removed the lowers and had a friend cup them. now the truck sits 3-4 inches from the body. not slamed as i hoped but low enough to enjoy. maybe sometime later i will change it.

Very cool! You gonna paint that column? Kinda' takes away from the rest of the interior.

well... added the sterring collum . finished all the wiring. Its nice to start with a key. put the hood on and found a rear bumper from a junk yard and made it fit. also added all the air valves. Thanks to some friends. next is some body alinements and work on the on board compresser.

Re: low budget 64

Hello and to the site !!!

Very nice turn around on this rig, looks like the PO had some idea of what he wanted to do with it, but lost his interest?

What size is your motor?
What was the time span on this build from when you got it to what it looks like now?

I can see where you and I have similar tastes in the look for these trucks!
Is your guage cluster panel sheet metal, or is that milk white plexiglass?

Re: low budget 64

Thanks McMurphy......Your right this project belonged to a friend and his son. His son lost interest and it sat for around 4 years then i got it. So far for me its been 2 years in april. I just build one part at a time.As for the motor its a small block 350. I pull it out of a junk car. The guage cluster panel is sheet metal that i painted. Now for me the hard part is the body work ...Im learning as I go...Im going for the satin black look. last I have dmv to deal with. Im hopeing I can drive it this summer.
