WTB_slide bar for AM FM radio

This is probably a needle in the hey stack, but if the needle is anywhere, it's on this site. I'm looking for the slide bar portion for an AM FM radio. Thanks for the help.

I believe they repop these, someone else will chime in if they still repop them. Trevor

Trim parts repops them. Might as well buy two, because you envitably will break the first one, it is pot metal and the tabs dont bend very well. You will need some very small needle nose pliars and take it slowly. Figure them at $18 each and trust me when I say buy two. Good luck, Harold

Re: WTB_slide bar for AM FM radio

Thanks guys, thats why I love this site. Someone always has the part or knows where to get it. They are selling for $21 now. I know first hand how easily they break. I broke the original one during removal. Oh well, the repo will look a lot better then the old original one. Thanks.

Another option is you can fix the original one that's broken, if the chrome isn't bad, or the new one that's broken.

This is done by drilling a very small hole in the broken area of the slide bar to about an 1/8" depth or a little more. Next, place the slide bar on the radio face with back side facing up, place the retainer in position on back side of face. Then, place some loctite on the threads of a very small phillips screw and thread it into the hole just drilled. DON'T OVER TIGHTEN. Check slide action. Takes about 1/2 hour.

Hope this helps.
