Spring an shock setup on my 1971 C10 SWB.
Would like to have a little help with setting up the suspension setup on my C10. The engine is going to be about 550 HP BBC an a 150 shot. The rear end is a GM 12 bolt. The tranny will be an auto with a converter about 3500-4000 stall. Some street driving around town never any long trips. Track a few times a year.

You need total weight of the truck and axle weights before you can make any educated guesses for springs. You can't guess on weights either, as the type spring you should run is very long and with a lighter spring rate. Using a wrong weight will not give you the ride height you want.
Shocks are pretty simple, get adjustable ones, Rancho 9000's work well for the money. Some do a coil over in the rear, others like myself use the factory spring location. Both can be made to work just fine. Again, axle weight and ride height need to be know to select a proper spring.
