Bucket seats covers...Big pleat or little pleat?
I have two different styles of bucket covers for my new truck and can't decide which to use, I'm so confused......I think I like the full hounds cover more, but on the other hand I like the small pleat pattern, which should I use???????

I prefer the one with more vinyl, but either one would look good

Definitely/without a doubt the small pleats and vinyl surround. JMHO though.

It's your truck, but the big pleat seat looks ho hum to me. It almost looks like one of those 80's Camaro seats with the funky fabric patterns they had instead of a houndstooth patterm. The vinyl around the edges pronounces the houndtooth pattern in the center, IMO.

I gather you already own both sets? If so, I vote for the small pleat set. If not, get your local upholsterer to whip you up a set the way you want them.

Actually I retract my statement. Use the large pleats for your truck.....and ship me the small pleats and some solid buddies for my truck

I'm with the small pleat & vinyl surround.
Much more traditional and refined. To me, big pleat and/or full fabric don't quite look right. But, Hey, it's your truck to enjoy whatever you choose! |

Re: Bucket seats covers...Big pleat or little pleat?
I am also in agreement of the small pleats with more vinyl showing...the other IMHO does look 80's or early 90's tweed....
Adding pics of finished/installed so people can see. The outer seats look like the small pleats where the inner buddy folding seat looks like the full houndstooth cover (except smaller pleats) I think this setup looks good together as it is. and another cover loosely installed:

Re: Bucket seats covers...Big pleat or little pleat?
In my opinion I would go with a bench seat.

Re: Bucket seats covers...Big pleat or little pleat?
I think the small pleets would better suit your interior. The vinyl edges give the seat a contrast in materials and make the fabric stand out more. The vinyl frontier it is!!

You stated you liked the full hounds cover. I'm with you on that and you should go with your gut. It will tie all the seats together better and look really sweet in you truck.

I personally like the full hounds cover, but mainly because I don't like sitting on vinyl or leather. I do have to agree though that the small pleats have a cleaner look in the picture you posted.

Re: Bucket seats covers...Big pleat or little pleat?
I say small pleats with vinyl cushion because it makes the buddy buckets look like they belong in a '72. It's one of those "look, then look again" things rather than glance and think "seat's not done original". That's the kind of custom I like.,when it looks like GM coulda or shoulda done it.
