GM 14 Bolt Brake Cylinder Photos

Hi, all. I ran into a bit of a problem while installing new rear brake (hard) lines on my 1973 K20. It has the 11" rear wheel drums, not the larger 13" brakes. I bought new wheel cylinders and they match what it had.

I also bought a new complete hard brake line set from Inline Tube. I installed all the front brake lines without a problem but ran into a glitch at the 2 rear brake lines. The new lines have 3/8" fittings where they meet in the center and screw into the flexible line. The new lines also have 3/8" fittings where they go out and screw into the wheel cylinders. That's where the problem is. The original (and replacement) wheel cylinders have 7/16" fittings. The original hard lines have 3/8" fittings where they meet in the center and 7/16" fittings where they go out and screw into the wheel cylinders.

Also, the wheel cylinders attach at a 45 degree angle, but the new brake lines attach at a 90 degree angle. This leads me to believe that Inline sent me the wrong rear brake lines. Here is what I'm talking about:

Does anyone have a photo, or can anyone share a photo of the rear wheel cylinders on their 14 bolt rear end, and maybe the lines and how they attach to the wheel cylinders? I'd really appreciate the help. This is holding me up, I'm not going to be able to resolve this issue until Monday.

I ran down to the parts stores to compare cylinders, and apparently I have the heavy duty wheel cylinders, but I thought heavy duty meant 13" brakes, which I don't have.

I got it all figured out. Apparently, they sent me 3/16 fittings and the 1973 cylinders on my truck are considered the heavy duty ones. The cylinders have 1/4" fittings for this year--they changed to 3/16" fittings in '74. I thought a '74 cylinder would fit, but it won't mount properly. Soo...

I purchased some 3/16" to 1/4" brass adapter fittings and hand bent the brake lines. Looks pretty good, I'll post some updates on the build thread.
