Solutions needed. Car seatS

68 c10 blah blah blah. I need to fit two car seats. I will probally wait until they a re a year or 2 old. Can you do this safely with the original bench? Right now I have an 05 silverado seat in there. It has provisions for 1 seat I don't think a 2nd one will fit in the middle though. I am not opposed into getting new seats again. Any thoughts?

Right or wrong, I used to do this when my oldest two were small.

I've done it. It makes it pretty tight for the driver, especially if you have a manual trans and no power steering (like the 70 I used to have), but you can do it. Just make sure you cinch the belts tight. The way I did it was to kneel on the car seat while cinching down the belt. Then I'd try to rock it side to side and then cinch it down tight again.
