Transmission cooler lines 56 Chevy
Hi All,
I need to get the transmission cooler lines to go from my 700R4 to my radiator with the built in tranny cooler. I've noticed a few kits out there, some around $20 and others well over $100. I was wondering what you guys are using and is this something I can make? I've made my own fuel and brake lines so I don't see the big deal but I look at some of the prices and wonder if I'm missing something. Also a follow up question, theres 2 ports on both the tranny and radiator, does it matter which line goes where? Thanks, Sam |

If you can make your own fuel lines and/or brake lines....
You will have no trouble making your own trans cooling lines. They are no different than fuel lines. Also, it makes no difference which port is IN or OUT. But if you want to add an auxiliary cooler to the system... The fluid circuit should be: out of trans, thru the raditor cooler into auxiliary cooler then return to trans. my $0.02 worth justplainray |

plain steel unless you're fond of the punishment with the SS.

Plain steel is good for this unless you are just bent on having stainless.
take your time and plan how you are going to lay the lines out and make factory looking bends and it should look and work good. |
