Was a little productive today.

I finally got around to changing my steering wheel today after putting it off for the past few days. Work has been hot miserable and surprisingly busy this week so all ive done is sleep and work but today I put my foot down and said screw it im getting motivated. My original wheel was about to crumble off the frame so I ordered a nice wood grant from jegs 2 weeks ago put it on today and let me tell you its like night and day. My only complaint is getting the horn spring done right its a damn tideous process but we got her. I was bored after I got done with the steering wheel so I decided to put some old emblems and valve covers I had to good use. I made a cool wall plaque but its not finished yet. I need a bowtie and some crossed flag emblems.

Enjoy, Evan

Re: Was a little productive today.

Looks great! I bought a similar one from Summit for mine. It has a blue bow-tie center that was a serious pain to put on. The spring kept popping it off. I noticed it seems to flex a little when turning (manual steering).

Strong arming it is always fun! I had a bad a p/s belt on my 71 C20 about 5 years ago and didn't have money for a new belt for about a week and I swear I was going to do die driving that thing with a tiny 12 inch wheel

Re: Was a little productive today.

Always been my biggest complaint about Grant wheels that sorry horn button. Love the wheels but they cheap out on the horn.

Well said, it is a big cheap out. I may even replace mine with something else because of it.
