Calling on you brake experts
Need help!! I bought a set of front spindles, rotors and claipers from a local. They were on his 64 c10 and I would like to install on my 62 c10. I know 60-62 is the same and 63-70 is different. what is the difference???

Re: Calling on you brake experts
60-62 had torsion bars and 63 + has coil springs.... I don't know if the late model spindles will work on a 60-62 but somebody will be by today that can answer that.

Re: Calling on you brake experts
Different balljoints; you could do a crossmember swap and use the parts.

Re: Calling on you brake experts
I don't think I would change the cross mamber for a 63 or newer suspension and disc brakes. At that point I would rather pick up a junked 73-87 newer c10 and do a complete swap including the rear end and convert to the 5 lug. with power steering.
If it all it is, is just ball joints that should be easy. I think... |

Re: Calling on you brake experts
I did the reader's digest version.........balljoints and control arms are completely different design. You could have the spindles machined to fit the 60-62 bj's I suppose......or sell the spindles and get one's for 60-62 and use the rotors and calipers. These are the only options coming to mind at this time.

arent the 60-66 frames wider than 63-66? I know the rear frame is wider on them, just wondering.
