Spark plug wires and headers
I have a set of hooker headers on my sbc in the Jimmy. When I bought it it had some 90degree boots with the little heat sock on them. They still burn through.
What type of wires are you guys running with headers? 90s. 45s, straights? a mix? I really hate headers, but I am building this Jimmy to sell and dont want to swap back to ramhorns. So what do you guys run for wires and how do you keep them from looking like crap?

Re: Spark plug wires and headers
It's hard to beat Taylor wires. They're almost indestructible.

Re: Spark plug wires and headers
I'm with this guy, SummitRacing "brand" wires are made by Taylor..thats what the salesman said anyway. I like to make my own so I can route as needed. Some kindof wire loom helps a ton too.

Re: Spark plug wires and headers
I run MSD's with 90 degree boots on them. No extra protection. If they touch, they burn otherwise they are just fine.

Re: Spark plug wires and headers
I have Autozone Duralast 90-degree wires on mine. No issue with the wires, but changing plugs is challenging.

Re: Spark plug wires and headers
I run 90 degree Taylor Spiral wound wires with the Accel shorty header plugs. I have never melted one.
MSD also makes some very good wires. |

x 4 on the Taylor wires. They can take a lot of heat.
