Anyone able to help?

And maybe give me some wiring diagrams for the courtesy lighting systems on our trucks?

I have a 1973 c-10 1/2 ton pick-up, and I cannot for the life of me get my internal courtesy lights to work.

Thanks in advance,
jeff

Do you have a Haynes or Chiltons Manual? IF not, this is a very good investment as they ususally have a diagram in the back.

I have both, and in each of them they have wiring diagrams - however they do not list any of the wiring for the courtesy lights, which is rather annoying. I figure I'll have to obtain a shop manual for my year of truck

Should be similar for all years.
Do you have a dome light or just underdash?
Break down all your courtsey lights for us.
Remember this:
Both wires going to the light will HAVE POWER when the light is OFF!
ONLY the ORANGE wire will HAVE POWER when the light is ON!
The WHITE wire will NOT HAVE POWER when the light is ON!
Hope that helps, didnt mean to yell at you

Only have a dome light, could find no light under the dash anywhere. Reguardless both wires are DEAD, no current under any condition. I need the wiring diagrams so I can find out where the wires are suppost to go, and then repair the problem. :p

Just cant find a useful wiring diagram.

Im at work, Ill check when I get home. I am almost positive that both wires (white and orange) go to the light switch. Ill verify later, if need be.

Hi Jeff

Anyway hope this helps, let me know if you need somthing else, I will look in my chevy truck manual again, but don't recall it being detailed enough, of coarse I am one who needs to see it to understand it when it comes to things like this.
