Brake booster and cylinder relocation
Has anybody relocated their brake booster and master cylinder to the frame?

Re: Brake booster and cylinder relocation
It would clean up the engine compartment. Just an idea.

Is the room there or do you have to make room?

Re: Brake booster and cylinder relocation
Wiper motor needs to move. Other than that, I think that's it. I'm going to post a bunch of pics up as I go since there doesn't seem to be too many of them around.

Re: Brake booster and cylinder relocation
There are some custom power brake units for 50's trucks and back where the master is under the floor in the stock location. No company name comes to mind at the moment. One of those might be just the ticket.
Possibly Master Power Brakes company.

Re: Brake booster and cylinder relocation
I looked into this a while back. There was a thread on here about a company making a frame mount, located in California. Seems like it was maybe Scott's HotRods? Seemed to be pretty simple and uses a m/c with either a regular top fill or a remote fill reservoir. IMO, I can't stand looking at our trucks with that huge m/c and booster hanging half way across the engine bay. I lucked up and got a deal on a CPP polished unit with a 7 inch booster which was too pretty to hide, so I did a little modifing on firewall and mounted the booster straight to firewall with no brackets in order to make it as "small"as possible. Good luck.

Re: Brake booster and cylinder relocation
I went to Scott's Hotrods' website and they have the setup you are talking about.

Re: Brake booster and cylinder relocation
I think it could be made to work. Might get in the way of tranny linkage and exhaust pipe though but something like that would clean up the firewall.
Another alternative to the huge stock booster would be a hydrovac system. It still mounts on the firewall but is considerably smaller than a stock vacumn booster.
