ridiculous problem.please help.
Yup.the lower spindle ball joint.
on drivers side. the upper popped right out with a gentle smack of the hammer. i beat the $HIT out of the bottom with no success. so i got a balljoint splitter fork, ill just get a new ball joint(i have a 40 ton press) except ive beat the splitter in hard as possible with no luck, hasnt budged. with the fork in i hit the spindle.no luck now the fork is stuck in there. what in the hell do i do now? i cant fit a big sledge hammer in there,no clearence to swing.

Re: ridiculous problem.please help.
well your only bet is to hit it any direction to get things to vibrate and then free up or get the fork out and retry.

I suffered the same issue not long ago. Then HartRod told me about a tool they use for this, so I ordered one and it sure made all the difference in the World. KENT MOORE J-23742 BALL JOINT SEPERATOR

Re: ridiculous problem.please help.
Use a blowtorch and heat up the balljoint after putting some cutting oil on it or something. You'll start to hear a tick, tick, tick after 45 secs or so. That's how you know it's finally broken loose. Wait for it to cool a bit, then smack it. It worked really well for my 41 year old balljoints.
