ebay help

I put my truck on ebay. and the high bidder didnt contact me, so I emailed him 3 days later, and he emailed me back and wanted me to deliver it to louisville ky (200 miles). and it clearly states in the auction that I am not responsible for any delivery because I dont want to miss work, but I told the guy I was willing to take the day off (Ill lose 270.00 for that), rent a trailer(50.00) and deliver it to louisville to help him out (he lives in west virginia). for 200$ to cover the trailer and gas but now he wont answer any emails or return my calls. my question is, how do I complain to ebay about it ? I looked all over their site and didn't see a complaint form?

I might be wrong, but I thought you could leave negative feedback for a bidder as well as a seller.

Try this for starters
http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/select-support.html

Try the safe harbor link on the site as well.
Ebay has a form to fill out about non paying bidders somewhere in there.

Good luck as I am finding that Ebay doesn't really give a $hit about deals gone bad. Buyers and Sellers beware. Ebay is only in it for thier take.

If you stated in the auction that you wont deliver then it means just that. He sounds like a deadbeat who wants to jerk your chain.
File your complaints with Ebay. And then realize he aint gonna pay.

go to ebay click on "my ebay" then click on "selling" scroll down to"trust and sefety" there's a form for nonpaying bidders then after you fill that out you can go to your billing account for a credit so you either dont get charged or you can run the ad again for free also for future auctions you can have that guy permantly banned from bidding on your stuff and don't be in a rush to post negative feedback because he can post it on you too the best way to post neg feedback is 89 days after the auction HEY IT SUCKS when you get screwed like this but overall i feel ebay is a pretty good system GOOD LUCK

Ya well it's a good sytem unitl some ahole sends you a set of used average door panels when you paid for NOS and Ebay doesn't give a $hit. My wife sells a bit of stuff and she gets deadbeat bidders all of the time. Both are the unfortunate results of a good idea lot's of us would rather be with than without so we tolerate it. It could be run better and some of the $cumbags that really screw people around could be kicked off. Ebay makes money from the $scumbags though and most of em are still there. It doesn't say alot for the morals of the people that run it does it?

What part of "will not deliver" does the winning bidder not understand?? I sell alot of things there and when I specify in my ad what I will or will not do, the potential bidders then have the option of abiding by my set rules or just pass on it entirely.
If he does not like the concessions you made on HIS BEHALF, screw him!!
Offer it to the next in line and don't even bother with the complaint process anyway. It is just a BIG waste of time and I seriously doubt that the "Ebay Team" will resolve it anyway. Tell him you give him 24 hours to make up his mind or else you are offering it to the next in line or you can relist it all together. Use the "Second Chance" offer to the next highest bidder. Why should YOU go out of your way to appease the moron that won the bid?

Be sure not only to leave the neg feedback.

Do the safe harbor and..........

Get them to credit you for the fees since it fell throug the way it did....they will credit it back to you..............

If there was a back up bidder that met your price..........you can try offering it to him...............

Start the process of a refund now!. Send the payment reminder then file a non paying bidder alert, after 10 days you will get refunded. Good luck, sorry to hear about this.

know the feeling

Hey Meathead. I know exactly how you feel. I sold a chevelle on there awhile back. The guy was an absolute deadbeat. Kept drawing it out saying he would have the money soon. Never came up with it. I filed non paying bidder and was reimbursed for my listing. I put it up again for sale right away, and somebody did buy it now. Then I got an email from her and she said she hit it accidentally and would I take 2000 less than the buy it now price. I was pissed. Third time around it sold to a decent fellow. Ebay can be frustrating. But, it helps pay the bills.

Check your account, usually its just credited to there, but I believe they send you an email to verify the credit.

blue beard

Nah blu beard. I was the one it happened to and it went like this. She hit buy it now, then phoned me to let me know she had made the mistake. At that time she said, "Well, would you take ----$ for it? And I said no. She reimbursed me by paypal for my listing cost so I relisted it for the third time. BTW, how would you know what "she" would have done?

I've been on eBay for several years now.

I've had 3 that took several months to resolve. And one of those was more involvement with the Postal Service not paying off on an insurance issure.

Glad your getting satisfaction on yours.

I have over 500 feedbacks with no negatives.....The first thing i would have did was file a complaint with safe harbor.....Next step is to acquire the bidders home phone # through ebay so you can talk directly to them.....
I have had to do this several times, the phone call to there house is usually enough to make them put up or shut up.
This can be done for bidders or sellers....Hope this helps?

good feedback

500 good feedback comments is great. I have 200 myself. No negatives. What I am finding though, and this is in no way referring to you chevy 1969, is that sometimes the feedback does not tell the whole story. Some people extort positive feedback from others. Case in point, the recent board member who was burning lots of folks and his feedback on ebay was fairly decent. Also, I have seen some people have friends "up" their positive feedback. It seems that no where is safe from crooked folk. This board has been very good to me though. Minimal instances of dishonesty. Ebay, well I have to say it has been pretty good for me to. I have had only 3 non paying bidders. Some of the stuff I have bought has not been "as described" but that happens unfortunately. I bought a seatcover from someone on the board a couple months ago that supposedly had no holes. It had nine. Fortunately, I have a great upholsterer.
