Temp. sensor??
Is 170 on/160 off to cool for a 350??

Are you refering to a fan switch adjustment?
If so, the numbers are just a ballpark type thing. I would pay more attention to the actual coolant temperature on the gauge. I would guess that it would come on at 170....and never go off. To answer your question directly.....yes, a 160 degee running temperature is too low.

Sorry to hi jack but i have a gauge from a 86 chevy with the numbers on it from 100 to 260 is there any differance in the sensors for the two differnt type gauges

In Iraq? The fan would never turn off!!
Iron engines like at least 180. Anything cooler and performance drops. I would go with a higher setting. Aluminum headed motors like heat. I have to keep mine at 190-195 for optimum performance. The fans are set a On 205 and off at 190. |
