one step forward two steps back
First, Thank You everyone for your help with my 59 apache. I got all of the front sheet metal on and everything fits.
Last week I replaced the after market aluminum intake with a cast iron SBC intake. Yesterday was going to be the day I drove my truck again. However two things have gone wrong. First I seemed to have lost the starter solenoid function. Also I do not have any power to the coil. Checking the ballast resistor shows it to be bad too. It took restraint of the ighest degree to not take a cutting torch to my truck just to show it who's boss. Lucky for me about the time I was looking for my cutting torch the wife called me into dinner. |

Re: one step forward two steps back
You may have disturbed a wire connection that handled the wires to the coil and the purple (at least it should be) wire to the solenoid when you had the intake off.
Or maybe the truck was upset because you took it backwards from the aluminum intake. Sometimes they seem to develop attitudes about such things. |
