1955 chevy short bed build..

First off Kebwe you might have seen this one he lives in your area i think and goes to the car show they hold in Culver City..

This one came to me by word of month, Pat (owner) has owned this truck for over 20 years and use to live in Washington State where they body and paint work had been completed.. He move to So. Calif. and brought the truck down with him and stored it for a few years just buying parts here and there thinking he would get to it someday.. He happen to go to a show and saw another truck we had did some work on and got my number and called.. When i got the truck it was painted, bolted down with all glass installed, motor and trans in but not wired or plumbed. Pretty much a bare body on a frame.. but the bed was full of boxs of parts..and a wise guys seat frame. Our job was just to put it all together for him and make it run..

Let the fun begin...............

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Re: 1955 chevy short bed build..

With the dropped spindle's in it sat a little high in the rear, so off came the bed to get rid of the stock spring set up and put in a TCI spring kit with new hangers and shocks.. also cleaned up the gas tank brackets.. the way it was put in you couldn't drop it out without taking the bed off so we redid it..

Wayne-

Nice work. I have a friend with a 48 5 window that is the same color and same size and style wheels. This one reminds me of my friends. Looks like another great project by Wayne....

Re: 1955 chevy short bed build..

I've noticed in at least two of your builds that you install a complete headliner. Is there a molded piece on the market that you use as a base or is each one custom made for the individual project? I am at the point of deciding how to do my headliner on my '58 and am struggling with ideas. I'm in Lake Havasu, AZ and heat on the roof is a definite concern for any material attached to the roof.
