Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

Hope this is in the right spot. I have a Kennedy bottom box roll-away (7 drawer) and am needing two of the drawer slides and the clips that hold the slide to the box and the drawer to the slide if that makes sense. No one here in town carrys Kennedy and have had no luck searching on line. ??

Shane has the right link. Kennedy tech support, depending on who you get, should be
willing to even help you using non-Kennedy parts.

I've had a few of their boxes and you can re-build them from the ground up.

Re: Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

just brought my roll-around and top chest home a few days ago from my Dad's ... been sitting there unused for about 10 years. took all the drawers out of the roll-around and washed her up all nice and neat.

gotta love those ol' brown boxes.

found this while poking around on the kennedy accessorie site ... hope this helps you out.

Re: Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

Thanks again Shane for the research.

I bought mine new (machinist top & bottom boxes in 1979) and they really have changed in drawer style.
Probably for the better.
They have always been pricey but a good long term value.

If any of you have a chance to pick up a used Kennedy...bullet proof tool boxes and a very
good choice if you have a need for something that will put up with machining debris.

Re: Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

small world ... mine were bought new in '89 too.

for what it's worth, I cleaned mine up using Formula 409 and a brush. once dried I was scared I had ruined it because the paint had a white chalky look ... sprayed 'er down with WD-40 and rubbed it in and it looks good as new and surprisingly enough it's not "oily" feeling.

Re: Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

Very small world.
Boeing pulled me out of trade school and they
had a account set up through a tool supplier...
Cool deal. Had me set up on payments taken from
my pay check.
You can't beat the old Kennedys for quality.

Funny how they get chalked like that;
mine did the same thing stored in a moist
garage...something with the paint they used
but just on the surface of the paint. Oil it
down and it's fine.

Still brown & works

Same story with me, 'cept it was Parker Hannifin. My first "real" machinist job. Man, that was a long time ago.

Re: Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

Thanks for the link there Shane. Boy ETsC10, talk about the small world effect. I retired from Boeing just last year after 36 years. Started out in '74 as a Mod Mechanic with my new top and bottom Kennedy roll-aways. Years go by and I became a flight line equiptment operator running cranes, air craft tow tugs and such so took the Kennedy boxes home to the garage. Still working well after all these years (the tool boxes that is, ) , me, I tend to walk a little more than run like I used to. After all these years the tool boxes are FULL to the max with tools picked up over the years.

Re: Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

i started off in 1973 as a model builder and if you did not have a kennedy toolbox your co -workers gave you the stink eye when they saw your box. (just kidding) but it was a good sign you were serious about your work.. I still have mine and it is missing a few parts. Thanks for the link, now i know where to find them. I was not sure they even still made them

Re: Kennedy Tool Box Parts?

I have bought several parts over the years directly from Kennedy and also through MSC.
They stock just about everything for their boxes. Some take longer than others to get though.

That's cool that there are some other machinists on this board. I don't run into to them much on here.
You guys all have new toolboxes compared to mine at work. I bought mine through an employee auction about 15 years ago. The company I used to work for bought them around 69-70. I have a few other newer ones at home in my shop but none are less than 30 years old .
