Inner Fender Question
Was just curious what you guys do for inner fenders? Do you do repo or repair the original? Every right inner ive seen is rotted through. Ideas?

Re: Inner Fender Question
I bought aftermarket although I haven't installed them yet. They are not as thick as the original ones but they are not rotted through either.

Re: Inner Fender Question
I used repop. Very disappointed. Thin and the fit is terrible. I'll be looking for a nice set of originals.

Re: Inner Fender Question
I’m using reproduction inner fender wells, fitting inner fender wells can be frustrating even a stock fender well from one truck to another. I just installed mine on my build and you might find some of my tips of benefit to you (see post # 613) http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...318544&page=25

Re: Inner Fender Question
on my 71 i repaired driver side and replaced passenger side. The wife's 67 came with some aftermarket repair parts so i used the inner fender that came with it. The fit was not bad on it the fender and core support is original. But i just installed an aftermarket (bought from a local guy didn't need for his project) and it took some work to get it to line up but i'm working off an aftermarket fender and core support too

Re: Inner Fender Question
Being inner fenders, you can likely get away with some less than perfect work, but make no mistake: the black will hide nothing. Ever see a black car/truck with bad bodywork? It stands out like a sore thumb!

Re: Inner Fender Question
I usually cut out the rotted sections and weld in some new metal. I like to reuse oem stuff whenever possible. I'm not a big fan of Chinese replacement parts.

Re: Inner Fender Question
You guys that are using inner fenders that are thinner than the originals, what brand are they? I know that Triplus brand are thicker than the originals, because I have placed them on a scale myself. WES

Re: Inner Fender Question
OEM...I've never bought any Repo parts for any of my trucks. I'll buy another truck and use it's parts before buying Repo cause then I know the fit and finish is all the same.
I just bought a parts truck & took apart the frontend...found PERFECT inner fenders in it and a perfect GMC rad support with dual battery trays. Stuff like that is hard to find up here so I haven't decided if I'll keep the inner's or not. Rad support was sold though.
