how did you do your swinging pedals?
I am getting to the point where I need to make up a brace to tie the brake master cylinder/ steering column and pedals together.

Re: how did you do your swinging pedals?
go to bone yard, cut a newer one out with the power booster and section of firewall.
trim and mate it in. IMO Brian

Re: how did you do your swinging pedals?
The donor was a european car (friend works in a collision shop), perhaps a jetta. I used a 3/16" plate for support just by the firewall. I was going to add a few more bolts through the firewall, but they weren't necessary. At the top of the photo is a 1" wide by 3/16" thick bar that ties the assembly to one bolt on the steering column drop, that is tied to the dash. It really firms things up nicely. Just to the right is the F1 cowl vent handle, which clears everything nicely. Photo is a 48 Ford F1, but you get the concept..... The switch was normally closed which will work well for cruise control, but not for brake wiring. The assembly is set up for two switches and I added a normally open GM brake light switch to do my wiring. On the firewall side is a CPP dual master cylinder with 1" bore, no booster, and it has an integrated proportioning valve. I highly recommend this part. |

Re: how did you do your swinging pedals?
thanks guys, It looks like I will have to make one out of spare parts.
Brian, That was the original idea but Murphy's law is in place here. It would be easy to do just that if I were going to run one of my turbo 400s but I am am going to Run a 4 m21 Muncie or Bw T10. I am using some of the Pontiac parts that I have from the GTOs I used to mess around with.At this point I have a 76 camaro clip pontaic 400 the {freshest motor} I have 3 400s 3 455s and A couple 350s The problem now is getting the brake pedal on the right side of the steering column. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=474288 |

Re: how did you do your swinging pedals?
I think I have figured it out. I have a steering column brace from a 70 skylark/chevelle I can widen it 2"at the pivot. Then cut out the stock pivot tube from a caprice brake pedal that drops on the right. Then weld it 2” to the right on 25 wall DOM that fits the stock gm bushings. then make a drop 2” to the left in front of the master cylinder.
I will have to make a clutch pedal like the Chevelle has but with a different push rod pivot so it will push downward instead of forward. The clutch bell crank will have it be fabricated also. Fun stuff |

Re: how did you do your swinging pedals?
Does the s10 setup straddle the steering column? And does it use a hydro clutch?
