Lift springs - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I want to lift my 1969 4x4 by 3-4" and I dislike lift blocks. My springs are original and seem a little tired. So, to kill both birds I want to buy replacement springs with a 3-4" lift built in. Anyone know where to get such a beast? Tried emailing Rough Country, who make a lift with front springs and rear blocks but seem to have rear springs as an option, but I get no reply.

Second question is about shocks. Anyone know what shocks I'd need for such a lift?

In case you're interested, other projects in the pipeline are:

Convert to EFI using a TB, later computer controlled dizzy and a MegaSquirt
Later convert to propane (maybe)
Replace the axles for stronger and disk brakes, but not sure which yet
Replace the heads for aluminum (lighter/better flowing)
Replace the junkyard TH350 with a 700R4
Blast/powdercoat the wheels and replace the rusty wheel studs

I should do a build log here, eh?

Lots of sping company's will make custom springs. I know "Riteway Spring Co." here in Tacoma, WA makes any custom spring you need. Whether it's leaves, coils, or torsion bars... lifted or lowered... they can do it.

But I'm sure there are lots of kits available through mailorder. You just gotta do some diggin'.. Check with National Tire and Wheel. They always have lift kits lifted in all the popular 4X4 magazines. I have bought a few lift kits from them myself over the years.

Great tip! Here's what I need probably:

4" Lift with Shocks

Also, right after posting I found a complete 4" Tuff Country lift that comes well recommended, but it's significantly more expensive than the Rough Country kit. That should fix me up, but I'll dig around some more too ...

Having looked around, National Wheel & Tire even seem to have the best prices ... thanks man!

Purchased. Costs $599+$50 shipping to Arizona.

you can get the rough country lift with new rear springs.....just scroll down farther and you have 3 options...blocks, 52 inch rear leaves, and 56 inch rear leaves. or you can just call them. i always have good luck talking to them. they seem to know there stuff

Did you look at the suspension special from national tire its less than $500 for lift springs front and rear plus shocks. Thats what i did qnd it was a superlift. It came with every thing u need for the lift, too. And if you add shock boots u get $50 shipping.

The special is on backorder, they said they haven't had them in stock for 6 months. I guess my Rough Country order stands.
