Crossmember Question

Ok I'm Doin a 2wd To a 4wd conversion on my 87-88 (squarebody) Crew Cab Dually... and the Plan is to do a Cummins Swap as well... Do I Need to Swap Out Engine Cross-members as well if I'm NOT planning on doing a lift... or less than a 4 inch lift??? Also I'm Putting a 6speed Manual in am I goni to have to chop and reweld the Tranny Hump in the Cab???

If you swap from 2wd to 4wd you are going to be swapping the crossmember anyway. I would just find a 4x4 frame and add the mounts and crossmember from Tennessee Diesel Conversions and you'll be way ahead of the game.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm Like the Idear.... but kinda Cost Prohibitive at this Point in time The Cummins Is First on the List then the 4wd

If you go from gas to a Cummins you won't have to change the crossmember. But when you go to 2wd to 4wd, then you will have to change the crossmember. The oil pan is huge on the Cummins, it won't fit with the stock 4wd crossmember.

Can I Change Out the Crossmember when I get the Cummins to get it outta the way... and not worry about ground Clearance issues???
