pull-a-part score today!!

I was cruisin through the pull-a-part today and just happened to look at a 79 chevy classic. Low and behold it had power windows and locks. It took me about 2 hours but I grabbed everything from window channels, regulators, motors, switches and every wire harness all the way down to the fuse box. The door panels are even decent!!

Also grabbed a chrome 4 spd shifter handle and a bunch of trim. I love that place. Too much fun.

Re: pull-a-part score today!!

It set me back a whopping 53.00! I try to go at least once a week if I can. I've pulled some very rare items from some impalas and such. Its been very very kind too me. Let me know if ya need something, I'd be glad to keep an eye out for a fellow board member!!

Here is a pic of the door panels and power window/locks stuff i got. I was so thrilled that I had the drivers side all out and half the wiring harness out before i took a pic. lol

Some are better than others. We have one in Gainesville, but I often pay $1.50 to wheel my tools around the yard in a wagon. Kind of like when I was a kid. You do meet some interesting folks.

bench set, auto column was gone already. I'm gonna head back and get a bunch of interior trim pieces. There was only 3 or 4 73-80 but a ton of 81-87 stuff.

So you got the panels then? Those speaker pods are hard to come by.

BTW, I love Impalas, I have a '69 and a '70. Mind sharing a pic or two of yours?

Re: pull-a-part score today!!

The pull-a-part is only a $1 here in Nashville. There is also a pull-n-save in another location that is $2. Basically the same things, but the pull-a-part is much larger and has a better variety.

I'm actually heading there now to get some goodies!!!

Re: pull-a-part score today!!

Had a great day at p-a-p. My truck had factory a/c, but the previous owner pulled the compressor and all the brackets off for "better fuel economy". It also didn't come with a head liner and that is definitely gonna change. Anyways, I spent a few hours looking around and this is what I got.

1. Complete a/c brackets ( 2 sets, just in case someone else needs some ) and compressor ( freon hissed out of the lines when I removed the lines and clutch still spins freely, but will probably use it as a core ).

2. Complete headliner trim off a 78 in perfect shape.

3. A perfect headliner out of an 80, but will recover to match my interior.

4. I also grabbed all the factory wiring, chrome housing and switch for the rear cargo light on the outside of the cab.

There was an 80 model there with factory power windows n locks but the wiring was all cut and someone had gotten too it already. It just got there!! I guess ya gotta move quick. lol
