Shifter and gear indicator questions
I have what I think is a 1972 column in my truck. I recently put the shifter arm and gear indicator back onto the column. The truck was a floor shift for a while and the shifter and indicator are not the original ones from this column, but they seem to fit just fine. Now when the shifter is in park the indicator doesn't line up. When the shifter is all the way down the indicator is way past the first gear indicator. This is all without linkage going to the transmission.
Do I have the right shift indicator? The first pic is the shifter arm in the park detente position. |

Re: Shifter and gear indicator questions
I have a 72 set up like this in my 68 and its the same way. I have not looking into doing anything as the truck needs a ton more work on other stuff. I would like to know the best way to get this fixed. Looks like you have the same window and indicator as I do. What kind of linkage are you running? I mocked all my stuff up with a Lokar arm kit.

Re: Shifter and gear indicator questions
Could anyone post a picture of the shifter arm location when in park and low gear on an original column? Basically I'm looking for a pic of the arm under the hood when the column is in the park position and in the first gear position. Thanks
