WTB: Modern Radio with MP3 Input
Hello,
Anyone have one they want to part with or is set aside due to an upgrade? We pulled the factory AM radio - so really need just need a factory fit, am/fm/mp3. Does not have to be a CD Head unit. I am afraid these kids just use digital devices. Thought I would check here first - otherwise will buy new. Footnote: This would be for my 16 year old's 71 Super Cheyenne that we saved from the crusher and revived. I will say, he turned a wrench by me for over 6 weeks, not knowing what the outcome of the motor re-assembly would be (it was a restoration that stopped due to money, interest and time). Well - I am happy to say that the 84k on the OD are original, the motor and drivetrain super healthy, and my son is very proud of the accomplishment. Alot of metal work needed - thankfully, have most of the parts. Will also be heading to Charlotte next week to look as well. Frank

Re: WTB: Modern Radio with MP3 Input
I have a radio that I just took out so I could install factory AM radio, lol. It is an older head unit with a cassete deck, but it works and plays fine. You can have it if you want it. Buy an FM modulator for $20 and you can play your MP3 that way. I use an FM modulator in my daily driver and listen to satellite radio/MP3 from my phone. Mine is similar to this one...

Re: WTB: Modern Radio with MP3 Input
This is the one I went with. It has MP3 capability through USB flashdrive or SD card, plugged into the adapter in the glovebox or wherever. I got this because it also has remote control. Sound is OK, but could use an amp to really kick. It does have two preamp outputs also.

Joe Blaze, will the original radio knobs work with your radio? Would look killer with the old knobs on it.

Re: WTB: Modern Radio with MP3 Input
it's not necessary to reuse the old ones, i foolishly picked the wrong knobs because i was too lazy to go out to the driveway to look what i had there now. they offer the exact match for our knobs. you have a choice of like four styles, and they are nice solid metal ones, not like some cheap plastic chinese crap you would expect. (even though they are still made in china. Well, i guess china does buy enough of our scrap steel anyway to be able to supply metal ones.)

Re: WTB: Modern Radio with MP3 Input
I have a Custom Audo Sound USA-630 radio with kickpanel speakers and the cam kit cord to plug in ipod and listen to it and control ipod with radio controls. It was a pretty spendy set up with everything being new and buying the better of the kickpanels. The radio itself is great though and looks great fitting in original dash
