Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
i started out with Fords, owned several LTDs and grand marquis (i like big cars)- then i turned to the light and only owned chevys for a long time. i consider myself a chevy guy, but my other car is technically a ford. i made the exception for a blown 2003 mercury marauder. its probably the only non chevy i would have ever considered buying, and its awesome.

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
Here are all the makes I have owned in my 20 years of being a licensed driver (in order):
Chevy, Buick, Mazda, Mercury, Ford, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, Jeep, Chevy, Buick, Honda, Chevy. So I guess my loyalties have strayed, but I seem to always come back to GM. |

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
Been a Chevy man until we bought a 94 Chevy conversion van. Never had new ride have so many problems, especially the rear end. It needed a rebuild every 40K miles. I'll never buy another Chevy again.
My DD is a 2007 GMC Sierra, which is NOT a Chevy (big grin). Have fun.....don t. .... |

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
I am a 100% Chevy owner. My grandfather, uncle, and father all worked for GM their whole lives. My first car was a 1994 S10 (that I put a 1994 Corvette LT1 in), then I got a 1998 Cavalier, 2003 Tahoe, 2004 2500HD, 2008 2500HD, 2007 Tahoe, 1967 C10, and the list goes on...

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
I have an award that was given to him in 1953 at the Kansas City, Kansas plant. It was actually a Buick, Olds, and Pontiac plant. He always tells me funny stories. He once told of a time when he was a wet sander and he used the water jet to spray one of the big wigs "accidentally". The guys all thought that was so funny.

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
I have driven Chevy's ever since I could get behind a wheel. My dad is retired from GM out of Charlotte NC. He held all kinds of positions while with them. he was the Chevy GM trainer several years there. I would go over during the summer and hang out in the classes with him and clean up after each class. He had a 64 SS Impala built while there. Had one of the first 350 Turbo trans put in it after training on it.

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
My love for Chevy's started a very long time ago.My very first car was an LS6 454 Chevelle. On the street nothing could touch it,and at the track it ran in the A/SA and A/S class, so it ran against the very best of each manufacture had to offer. I sort of felt like I was representing the best Chevy had to offer. Talk about pressure! LOL Any way back then it was GM against MOPAR and FORD,now it's all of us against the imports!

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
I'll always been a chevy guy, and my family all drive chevys, but my curent DD is a 1992 toyota paseo. 140 miles a day and has over 303,000 miles on it. Runs like a champ, air blows cold and consistantly gets 36-38 mpg. Hard to beat that. I'll probably keep driving toyotas forwork beaters, but for comfort and local driving its all chevy.
Order of ownership '80 olds, '88 buick, '95 olds, '91 C1500, '91 tercel, '05 4 runner, '92 paseo, '68 C10

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
Since my first car 25 years ago all have been GM except for one. The non GM was a 77 Datson 280Z. Good car but it didnt last very long before I traded it to my uncle for a 66 C-10. Even my wife knows better than to look at something else. I had to say GM because we did own a Pontiac once. All in all I counted 25 but could have forgot a couple.

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
I hate to throw cold water on all this, but I'm a Ford guy. Last Chevy I owned prior to my truck was a 79 Caprice that was purchased new. The ex-wife had to have it towed in when she traded it off with 13,000 miles.
Having said that, I've been quite impressed with how well my truck has survived the last 40 years. It's had some help, but overall is a very solid ride. I plan to keep it for a long time.

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
GM/Ma Mopar guy.I owned a Ford once for about 2 weeks.I inherited it and gave it to a good friend who needed wheels.I've owned 4 67-70 panels(one of each year) I still have the two worth having.Ole' what's er name drives a 2000 Blazer for a DD and I have a Dodge Dakota for a DD.I bought my first Foriegn car about 3 years ago.I put 1200+ miles on it when I bought it(from Dallas Tx to Greensboro NC)and maybe 300 miles since. It's a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190D with 78,000 original miles on it.Bought from my F-I-L who literally drove from the garage at home to covered parking at work and back.Since it's diesel it's probably barely broken in.Air blows Ice cold and everything works on it.

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
Chevy all the way. Ive had over the years: 87 Monte Carlo SS, 70 Chevelle, 48 Stovebolt, 70 Nova, 72 Chevelle, 03 Silverado SS, 90,91, and 95 Silverado's, and now 69 C10. To me, there is none other than Chevy.
Side Story: My brother in law calls me one day, and asks if I wanted to check out his new "truck". I say sure, go over, he pops the garage door open, I poke my head in, look around, and say, "Where's it at?" He says, "right in front of you" (Honda Ridgeline) I begin laughing and said "I thought you bought a truck? He didnt find the humor in it, but I told him if he wanted a real truck to get one with a bowtie on it. |

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
Even though I own A Chevy now, Im a MOPAR guy. But there have been mostly chevys in my family. A few fords but they were all crashed or traded haha. Mopars- 70 plum crazy challenger, 65 cornet, 06 2500, 89 w-250, 96 1500, 95 2500, and two durango's. Chevys- 69, 72, 74 vettes, 70 z/28, 3 Irocs, 5 duramax's, and newest additon a 69 c10. This is only half of the chevy's, most of the others are work vans for my grandpas buisness. So, I guess I can say chevy runs deep in my family.

Re: Chevy Runs Deep?
I own 2 Fords currently ,my 96 Explorer that I bought new and my wifes 04 Explorer Sport trac we just recently purchased with low miles. All of our 5 classics are Chevrolet with the exception of my wifes 81 Trans Am and my 96 Explorer will go away as soon as my 72 short fleetside truck comes home from the bodyshop from its frameoff restomod and will be my new daily driver. If I were buying new which I probably never will again it would be a Ford as they were not bailed out by our govt .
