Brothers one piece window install

Anyone installed the Brother's one piece window kit? I bought the whole power window kit from C20-67_N_MO and it should be here around Monday. Anyone have any tips for the install. I heard that putting window adhesive in the lower sash works better than the stuff included in the kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

#1. A very updated good looking side window.

#2. My electric window regulators work much easier and smoother with the larger window. I think this is because of the added side window area against the felt.

#3. The instructions are very thorough and extremely easy to follow. I and Cody did the second window in about 3 hours. Like I said at the beginning we have some experience of the inside of those doors.

Cons:
#1. The added pieces of the kit especially the corner pieces are what a backyard mechanic would install, This is an expensive kit that should be factory looking when completed. I will have to do a couple of Modifications to make this kit look closer to factory instead of the “bolt on” that it is.

#2. The way the forward channel meets the upper forward door where the wing window used to set is another weak spot.

#3. The replacement window felts and rubber have the front portion just setting in the door not mounted to anything.

#4. The inner window channels not being attached at the top leaves future problems and “Could” be the reason the window rattles in a partially opened closed position.

In conclusion:

I would not recommend this kit to someone that has no experience in modifying.

I, knowing what I know now "would not" have purchased this kit only due to the needed modifications

Thanks for the info Lolife. I had already read all of those threads/articles, but it is nice to have them in one place. I was hoping someone had some more recent info on the install, since Brother's supposedly "improved" their kit, from what I have heard.

That would be great, thanks. I have heard some horror stories about the kit on here and I have heard others say they love it. I am just wondering what the difference is. I'll be calling you for sure.

Well, I spent all day on just the passenger side and I am having a few issues.
1. The black rubber tape they give you to hold the glass in the sash just falls apart before you even get the glass seated in there. I used 3M Windo-Weld to hold it in there and it seems to have done the trick.
2. The check link hits the front track even though I cut it down, just as the instructions showed (all the way down to the welds). Tomorrow I am going to have to take the door back off, grind the check link WAY down and then weld it back together (since the rivets are going to be ground off).

Here are the completed pics. This is not an easy process, so if you don't have some fab skills I would not recommend it. I also included pics of the power door lock actuator mounting and the drag link (keeps the door from swinging open too far) after it was modified for clearance.

The door check link hitting the front channel is normally due to the nylon bushing that check link rides in has a predetermined path from early years of wear. The other thing we have encountered is that the check link rivet is in a slightly more forward position causing it to hit even though you have it ground down correctly.

Fix: run a piece of emery cloth through with the check link to smooth out the nylon. This will take the grove out that was wore in from past movement.

Rivet to far out in the check link, drill a hole in the check link further back weld or rivet back together.

Yes, I am done. See the pics above. After it is all said and done, I really like the new windows. They look great, are much quieter than stock, and are much more secure than stock (harder to break into than the vent windows).

Any other pros/cons in your opinion regarding the kit? I'm considering the Brothers and the OPP one piece kits, they both appear to have some draw backs. The Brothers are a hell of a deal right now, almost $200 cheaper.

Did you get the window scrapers to follow the contours of your door? Near the old vent window opening?
