Newbie question about T Case 71 1/2 ton
I need a transfer case and front drive shaft for a 71 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy. The truck has a 4 speed manual. This should be the New Process 205, right? I've located a 205 locally that need one roller bearing replaced on the output rear. However someone robbed the front yoke off it. Someone took the same yoke off of mine too. Will the rear yoke work on the front? What years work on the front drive shaft? Any help appreciated?

Re: Newbie question about T Case 71 1/2 ton
Yes it should be an NP 205. No, your year yoke won't work on the front. There are several different yokes available. For the stock front output shaft, there is a yoke (you should have) and a flange (later models). I've got a complete good shaft you can have for the price of shipping. I am in Alaska, so that may be expensive!
Also, companies like WFO Concepts, Off Road Design, and Novak Adapt will have the info and the proper yoke. I'd start with WFO. They may have a used one cheap. ORD may stock the rebuild parts that you need. I actually gave away my 205 just got get it out of the way. Hope this helps. |
