Anyone worked on their clock? 73 GMC
Hi,
My GMC manual says to refer to a professional. I have not accessed the clock, just enough to know it is worth saving. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!: Mo gmc2: |

I took my clock to a local speedo repair shop and they converted it over to quartz for about $65.00. Keeps great time.

You might also be able to get a conversion kit and do it yourself.
http://clocksandgauges.com/gpage.html I did the one in my '63 Grand Prix with no problem (just make sure the kids and dog are not around). K

Thank you very much for the link, it will be a great help. I think GM did some of their best work circa 71-76....for me it is the steel and metal engineering. Cheers, Dutchfish |

I pulled one apart carefully and gave it some light oil, seemed to work fine after that. Thats as far as I went though.

Re: Anyone worked on their clock? 73 GMC
I just bought a rebuilt quartz from a newer model to fit my 77. I switched lenses to account for the dial being in the 8 o' clock position from the 12, but it works and looks better than my old one.
