a wood floor or a metal floor in a short bed. I am building a short bed and have the stuff to go either way[ except the wood itself] Most likely the hard working hauling days are over for this truck. Maybe stuff form the store or maybe a couple of golf bags but a blanket or towel could go down first

The wood beds look better than the metal floor, but the metal floor is more durable. Since you won't be doing any rough hauling wood would be better.

This is obviously personal preference. If I had a dedicated show truck I would do wood. If it was an occasional driver, or daily driver, I would do metal.

I'd only add that I would also do a spray in liner on the steel floor.

with a wrench, lumber, drill and a router.

For nicer trucks, nothing is prettier!!!

If you do need to use it for rough stuff or weather, invest
in a removable liner and good tonneau.

Only thing to wood would be oil the bottom peaces that face the road i seen guys spay that under rubber coating on the back side of the boards to keep them from drying out and cracking

wood looks good.....but imo a straight, dent free metal floor really pops. its not too often that you see a perfect steel floor.

I was lucky with mine. I only had to knock out a couple little dings in the bed floor, and the rest of the inside of the bed was nearly perfect.

I have a 4' X 6' door mat that I protect the paint with. I got it at Home Depot for ~$30

Wood,with a plywood subfloor covered with carpet for use.If it's a work truck i would do wood also just not as nicely finished.Steel for a welding truck or a truck that would be hualing a lot of metal.

I love wood beds in our trucks painted body or natural....that being said, my truck was originally a wood floor, but since I use my truck to haul my atv's and other various stuff whenever I need a truck, I am happy that I went with a steel floor, because I can always repaint it. If every scratch would have been a gash in the wood, that would just hurt....
