Re: Trucks with the shortest list of options?

You asked for short options lists........and, well, it is short!

I've had it since March and really haven't "improved" on the installed options list any. It does have a radio in it now to fill the gaping hole cut by the PO, and I've done little things like rebuild the mono-jet carb. and other general maintenance stuff to keep it running and driving........at least for now.

Here's the post after I brought her home.

I love those! And I thought mine was short. Never heard of a no-option vehicle.

I always thought that WHITE with black interior would have been the "base" colors.
Does anyone have an original SPID without any colors listed - if so, what color was it originally ?

So then is "saddle" the actual color of my truck? I've never been able to answer that question when asked.

Saddle is the color of mine, even though everybody calls it gold.

Re: Trucks with the shortest list of options?

All trucks came with paint. Paint is not an option,it's a choice. There is no base color. Paint color is always listed on the SPID. All options cost extra, either by themselves or as part of an optional trim level. No charge for solid paint. A truck with only paint and interior color listed is a no option truck.

Mine doesn't have paint listed! But then again, my spid doesn't look like anyones here.

With all of the data on this SPID, I'm with Special-K about it being a COPO vehicle. My bet is that it was either USAF or USN, with the blue vinyl being listed. I didn't notice a paint color. Here's a "truck" that I drove in VietNam. I wish I could see the ID tag on the cowl. I just didn't have the presence of mind to take a pic of it, too.

Here's mine, pretty sparse for a Cheyenne, stepside no less
Special K, I have seen quite a few 67's with blue interior paint, mostly on white trucks.

Re: Trucks with the shortest list of options?

That is basically a COPO truck, which could carry many exceptions. The military, large fleets, and municipalities ordered trucks in colors not offered anyone else. A COPO vehicle is an option in itself, even if it comes in primer.

Yep, this one was ordered for the Air Force. Interesting, when I took the bed off the other day, it has something written on the front of the front bed panel. I'll have to look when I get home but is says blue and has a group of numbers, like 4478 or something like that.

Sorry for the hijack!

Re: Trucks with the shortest list of options?

My 68 was black with a white top and red interior. It also had the painted sort bumper option. I never took a pic of my SPID sheet, but it looked like Pick's exept with the white top option and color divider.
