How to paint the bed wood to original Spec
Now that I purchased the original size Yellow pine boards for my PU how do you guys suggest I paint them. I am planning to paint them Black like the originals.

Thanks - I plan to go with the 3 coats of POR-15 rust preventative and 3 coats of of Behr best quality black exterior latex enamel. I'm going with a non gloss look though. I will paint the steel straps with Rustoleum primer and flat black spray paint.

factory used oil base varnish with lampblack for color.

I'm not sure what year you have. But as far as task force trucks there was nothing I can think of that was ever painted a "flat" black. There was lots of things painted semi gloss though. There are not many restorations that use the correct semi gloss black, most are lacking enough gloss.
