short fleet for bed
If I buy a 68 short fleet in Bay Area for bed only, and put my dented step bed on it, what is it worth? 6 cyl, 4 speed. Appears complete, needs TLC and restore. sitting in back yard for last few years, was a farm truck. has pink, not sure yet on non-op status...

Re: short fleet for bed
would you happen to have any pictures Steve??...i think it may be a matter of what it looks like, is it a driver....I like to see what the going rate is for one in the local CL....not that it's a true analysis, but could give ya some guide to what folks think their stuff's worth....if you can breakeven or make a little out of the deal though...go for it

Re: short fleet for bed
Depends on the condition overall. It will bring less money with a step bed than a fleet bed.

Re: short fleet for bed
Here are pics. Again, I need the bed. I want to know if I can get my money back out by either selling parts or whole truck with my step bed bolted on. This is a no frills, 6 cyl, sitting since 2000.

Re: short fleet for bed
mind me asking what it's listed at? If the sheetmetal is any good, you maybe able to sell....but you're in Cali so nice sheetmetal is more abundant

Re: short fleet for bed
You'd get $500-1g back out of it selling whole if it's not running and driving. So you could get the bed for $500 or get it for free.
I see tons of SWB trucks for sale with no bed and they don't bring much money since the bed is what everybody wants. No fleet side, no $$$.

Re: short fleet for bed
If the bed/tailgate is in good shape, its worth $1000 by itself. The rolling frame would sell easily by itself for $250-$400. The other sheetmetal (since we are in Cali) is a little harder to move....unless you price it to move, or it is in mint condition (I doubt it would be in mint condition just from your pics)
