Well..put the truck in to get the PST Kit done today..

I told them I wanted "Front Bushings and Ball Joints" done...should I have told them spindles and shocks aswell? Because I mean, the cause for 2½ hours labor for each side, is to get the spindle and shock OFF (after that, the control arms and balljoints come right off) I dunno, if they don't put the new spindles and shocks on, I'm gonna be PISSED! (Cuz I mean, they had the spindles and shocks OFF, it would have been no more work to just use the new ones, ya know?) Well..here's to hoping.
P.S.- As for my leaks...I tracked em all down. The power steering is leaking from the fitting that screws into the pump..no problem there. The leak from the tranny is the dipstick fill tube..no problem there (got a new one) Still gotta take the truck down and have a mechanic professionally tune the carb. (It kinda hesitates off idle) But...I STILL GOTTA GET PASSED SMOG!

You mean you're not doing this your self??

Hmmm.....I thought all of us 73-87 owners did all of our own work.

I COULD have...but I honestly don't have the time to do it. I need to get this truck done and running ASAP, because for the past 2 months, I've been carless! (and I've been forced to drive a 91 Chevy FULLSIZE 3/4 ton van!! But it does have the L05 ) I'm just hoping that the front is even with the back, and not 1" higher like I think it will be..(ohh well, just have to get some 1" drop springs)

they do have to do more work to put the new spindle on. they have to remove your rotors and tranfers then and the bearings to the new spindle. not that that takes much time, but i doubt they are gonna do the extra work for free. good luck though, mabey they are nice.

They can take off the upper and lower control arms without removing the spindle and shock? Hmmm..damn..I guess I'll just have to put my spindle and shock on myself if those freaks don't huh?

Hmm, well then..I guess I can do my spindles myself...but the shocks, will definately be a problem Man, they better do it all! I told them "Everything's in the cab." I put the bushings, shocks and spindles in there...

i don't think you get it. your BREAK ROTORS are attached to your OLD SPINDLES. if they were not replacing the spindles they would not have to remove the ROTORS from the OLD SPINDLES and intsall them on the NEW SPINDLES. i didn't say anything about the control arms or shocks. yes they have to be removed but the rotors do not if you are keeping the same spindles. so yes they are doing more work to put new spindles on, by removing and reinstalling your rotors.

You might tell them what you really want done. Dont say, "the parts are in the cab". dont ***** if you dont get every thing correct when you did not explain what you expected. If you can install the spindles or springs by yourself why are you making a big deal of needing them to install the shocks? Shock replacement is much less work than spindles or springs.
