Which looks better?

Yes, it's dirty. It's been raining.

Opinions on what looks better?

Re: Which looks better?

I felt like I was in the dentist's office reading one of those "highlights" kid's magazines trying to find the difference in the two pics for a minute, then read jkirn's comment...

I agree - mucho better with the trim.

Same here.
I couldn't see it at first.
Scrolled down and read jkirn's post, scrolled back up and instantly agreed.
2nd pic looks better.
It completes it.

The trim looks best with a solid color truck.

Re: Which looks better?

That sail panel trim is my favorite piece of trim GM ever used on a pickup, I added them to my cab....so of course I vote "with".

I played the same game yesterday and lost! I thought it was the resolution of the pictures!
I won't vote because I couldn't see the difference in the first place. Any one know a good eye doctor? LOL

Thanks to all!

Sail panel goes on. I need to figure out how to make the rear "clip" to keep them from flappin in the wind now.

Re: Which looks better?

It's pretty basic a slight offset with 2 screws to mount it. With a 3 pieces of sheet metal, if you clamp the piece you want in the center, with a second piece on one side on one end and the third on the other side on the other end and clamp this in a vise it will create a nice offset for you. Or if your lucky enough to have a brake well then you already know.

________________ ...................
.....______________________________
..............................._______________________

then clamp

and you should get
................. ___________

Re: Which looks better?

If you are trying to make subtle changes to make your truck look better, try finding a set of older chevy small diameter hubcaps, using some of the older spring clips dirll and tap some bolt holes in you centerlines to mount the old chrome hubcaps (like delmo did on his trucks) I think it could look pretty cool and not be ridiculously expensive. Hey Kieth -
You and I must think LOTS alike, because I absolutely HATE those center caps on there now. Your suggestion is awesome - I have some older, but not so vintage dog bowls I can practice with. You also spurred more thought - I'm going to look to see what center caps are available for later model trucks too. The ones that have the fake lugnuts that actually screw down over the real ones.

More research, lol....

And thanks to all for the vote for the panels! I think this truck will be the one that gets a "real" resto, since my 66 kinda turned into Frankenstein.

Also, what does the crowd think about two-toning the cab? Since the wheels were already silver and the paint was so dark, I chose some dupli-color GM metallic silver to paint inside the trim. I'm thinking that might look pretty good on the top half of the cab, but also worry it might look "gaudy".

So, I need more of your guidance.
