Anyone running a rake? Drop spindles up front. Stock leafs in back?
Hey guys I'm just playing with a few ideas for my truck. I have 2.5" drop spindles up front and 4" shackles/hangers in the back.
I was thinking of removing the shackles hangers in the back and leaving the drop spindles up front. Kind of going for a mean aggresive stance. Not just low. Plus I'm hoping when I haul a trailer my truck will level out instead of squat. Anyone running the rake I'm looking for? Thanks Guys!

Man, when I read the word "rake", it makes me think of leisure suits and early 70's rock.
EVERYTHING back then had big honkers on back, skinnies up front and a 5-6" rake. My old man called 'em "stink beetles" because of the way the bugs push their butt in the air when you touch 'em, just like the cars and trucks of the age. Should work fine, just don't go overboard or you'll have a hard time trying to keep from sliding out of the seat into the floorboard! |

I was thinking more of a CalTrans worker rake and shovel men
Actually I want with a 3" spindle and a flip kit. But I had such a chevy lean going on and had more to do to correct that. As it turned out the back springs were mush. So I had three sets of spring all torn appart. I mixed and matched the best arches of all the springs. I used two second springs, one third and the lower arch spring from a 56" set of springs. It rides stiff yes, but the stance is 1" higher in back than the front and I'll bet it will tote a load too. Oh and no more chevy lean. |

I did, just long enough to get to the parts house and back. I felt like I was sliding out of the seat.
Then I did the flip. Its still a little higher in the rear.

Man I did not realize it would rake out that bad!!! I was thinking it would just be a little bit raked like the stance with the flip kit....?
So just having spindles and stock springs up front will rake it that bad? Posted via Mobile Device

That is spindles and one coil cut off. Down 4 1/4 in the front, 5 3/4 rear with the flip. Here it is stock.
