burb reference material - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I'm looking to get a 67-72 Burb and am looking for information as to what books or reference material is out there to learn more on these? I am not new to Burbs, I currently have a '48 Burb and '50 Panel, just sold a '49 and '52 Burb but want to get a burb that's more driveable and reminds me of my youth (I was born in '72) Any help on reference material would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Brian

Nobody knows of any 67-72 Suburban books????

There isn't one to my knowledge.

The best you can do for Suburban, is to read about it in a book on Chevy trucks in general.

I believe there's a section in the Factory Assembly Manual for burbs....good for how-to's and parts etc....not a history lesson

Thanks for the replies. I guess they all seem to have the same common rust issues and what not. I've been looking at tons on ebay and craigslist to compare everything. Hopefully soon I will join the 67-72 ranks along with belonging to the AD crowd (47-54) Thanks again

I wish there was a good book on the history of the Suburban.
I have been working on mine for almost as long as I can remember, and have always kept an eye out for burb literature online or anywhere else for that matter.
The popularity if the old burb just hasn't produced a good reference/history of the Chevrolet Suburban, which I find funny because the Suburban is the oldest marque out there running.

So you have been shopping, and have seen lots of burbs eh? What kind of model are you looking for, and what are the average prices you have noticed?

Always curious as to what these old girls are bringing on the market.

Good luck in your quest to find the right burb for you, since there are a few people here on the board that have been searching for quite some time now.

I am with Vectorit on that. I have picked up original dealer brochures for various years and that is worthwhile. Not horribly expensive.

You might try this site. I think it is a GM supported site and some of their stuff is useful.
