Strong fuel smell, no visible leaks

Hi everyone, as you can see I'm a noob with a vague question.
Anyway, I just bought a '77 Sierra and am getting to the point that I'm afraid to park it in my garage because of the gas smell.
Any ideas on where I should start?

Check the fuel vent line from the tank to the filter canister next to the radiator. Check the bottom of the canister to see if there is a filter there. If that's missing gas fumes will flow out. In fact, check all of the rubber vacuum and fuel lines on the engine. They should probably all be replaced anyway due to the age of the truck. It's possible that the fuel pump is seeping but not dripping so look for wetness around the fuel pump. Do the same around the carb.

If you don't have an evap canister you can replace your rubber lines starting at the sending unit(s) at the fuel tank(s). I routed the vent lines on my C20 to the back of the truck to keep the gas smell out of the cab.
