New to Dropping a Truck

I am new to dropping a truck. When I bought my truck recently the guy told me he had the truck dropped 2" all around. I believe he said he has 2" drop springs for the front and a kit for the rear. Well I want the truck to be leveled (cuzz the back is slightly higher now) and to drop it probably another two inches (assuming 4" more in the rear) so it is right on top of my tires so to speak.

That being said what am i looking for? will I need to get new springs for the front and as for the back if its a kit maybe it will drop additional 2". Any way if u guys could educate me I would appreciate it.

Howdy, That is a good looking truck. It doesn't look lowered at all to me, but here's what to look for, in the front you won't be able to tell if it has drop springs really, but in the back look at the rear shackle if they are about 2-1/2" long it's stock, if they are about 4-1/2" long and the brace above it on the bed has been cut it's not stock. On the front leaf spring hangar if it still has the rivets in it it's stock. There is an entire thread "DropThread" showing all types of lowering jobs and what they did. Hope this helps.

Nice clean truck. From the pic it doesn't look dropped to me either.

it really looks like just the rear is lowered
mine was lowered with a coil cut off the front coil spring which lowered it 2", 2" lowering shackle and a couple of springs remove from the leaf spring pack

Thanks for the help guys. I was able to check the rear out and took a couple pictures. Maybe you can explain to me what we are looking at. The bracket in the back has a second hole that appears to be 2 inches of drop?

Aaron was right it has been lowered in the back 2" with a shackle. That's probably all that's been done but pics are deceiving sometimes. Now you have to decide how you want it.

well i want to level my truck (do not want the back higher than the front). My objective is to get this look for my truck (example below). Will these particular shackles achieve this look? I have notice a second hole that can be utilize. thx for the help again

That black truck is nice, can't blame you for wanting your truck to sit like that. It's pretty close to the same drop as mine. I had the shackles and hangers on the back for a long time. I put stock shackles back on and did a 5" flip kit. On the front I have Belltech 2-1/2" spindles with one full coil cut off stock springs.

Agrred.
The black truck looks like a 4/6" drop.
This will require you to put the stock rear shackle back on.
Add a flip kit and shorter rear shocks.
Up front you can add drop spindles, maybe trim 1 coil off your front coil springs and add drop shock.
(the other option is to but 2" drop front springs,... instead of cutting yout stockers)
