Fair price for this 1975 GMC?

Seller just emailed me with a buy it now offer a good bit lower than what his BIN is. What do you think this truck is worth in the current condition?

Re: Fair price for this 1975 GMC?

I wouldn't go more than $3k.

The rust issues as the owner mentioned - and possibly behind the master cylinder, rockers may need to be replaced
The hood and roof appear to be repainted (not good either) at some point
The bodywork that will be needed in the driver rear quarter above the tailpipe
"Rearend had the fluids replaced"-Doesn't look as its been touched
Transmission/rear main seal large leak
Exhaust has a newer pipe added recently, looks as though they welded into the existing pipe (why not replace it completely?
Had to get the guages "fixed" for the sale- what guages weren't working?
The bumpstop on the front end looks horrible, has he been riding on it for a long time.?
I would think the truck needs a full front end rebuild, sine he has newer tires at the time of sale.

For his buy it now price, we're talking about a fully optioned big block truck.

Don't get me wrong, I love those simple no options truck and I would keep that one stock and drive the hell out of it, but it is not worth anything near what he is asking for it.

I agree, $3000 tops.

If you can get it at less than $3500 and are fine with what needs to be fixed, go get it.

No need to fool around and miss out - especially for a few hundred dollars.

Since you are in texas I bet you can find a nicer unit with absolutely no rust for cheaper.

Trucks like that are a dime-a-dozen out here. BIN price is out of line. $3000.00 would be my tops for a low-option truck without a V-8 and A/T.

Re: Fair price for this 1975 GMC?

I disagree with all of yous. AC works, so that's a big plus (looks like dealer installed option). It's also a pre-smog check year truck, which means you can do whatever you want here in CA, and not have to worry about the smog police.
3k is too low, but 5k might might be too much. I'd be happy to get it for $4000....I'd just add power steering, and a T5, then drive the wheels off it.

Call and make him the offer. He started at 12,500 so he may entertain 4k the way the price is coming down.

In CA I can see where he would ask more. 73-75 squares are the only one you can modify freely. That's only 3 years worth of trucks. Other than that, you would have to get a 67-72 and we all know what those cost. In any other state though, its not an issue so people aren't willing to pay the premium

The way that guy has been screwy with the price kinda scares me though.

Re: Fair price for this 1975 GMC?

That's a good point. The area where a pickup is being sold could well be 50% of the price factor.

What exactly are you looking for? Real solid square bodies pop up from time to time for a real decent price down here. Mostly the 80's Chevy's and GMC's, the 73-80's are a little more rare.
